  • NEWS JUST IN DEVELOPERS DONT LIKE FOOTBALL

    UEFA_Euro_2016

If you enjoy supporting your national team whenever they're on the pitch, you’ll probably know that the UEFA Euro 2016 football tournament has begun! To bring a little bit of competitive spirit to the office, we thought it would be a good idea to run a company sweepstake. The rules were simple: Stick a fiver in, pull a team name out of the hat, and the person with the winning team wins the pot. There was one fundamental problem - developers don’t care about football. With 24 teams in the competition, but only 5 employees wanting to join the ...

    Sitecore 9 Announced

At 3chillies we are always (maybe a little too) excited when a new version of Sitecore is announced.  It can be an emotional roller coaster, highs on reading about the new features and opportunities on offer and then the realisation that we need to get all our great customers onto this version.Like all partners (and customers) we have had some interesting experiences with upgrades, but the effort is without exception, worth it!This article takes a unashamed high level look at the new features and reasons why existing Sitecore customers ...

  • ARE YOU MOBILE FRIENDLY?

    page is not mobile friendly

Back in 2007, around the same time the first iPhone launched, you wouldn’t hear many people using the phrase “Responsive Website Design”, and there’s a good reason for that - there was no such thing. If users wanted to browse the internet on their mobile device, they’d have to pinch and swipe to navigate around a page designed to be viewed on a desktop computer screen.  For those who are unfamiliar with the term, Wikipedia describes Responsive Web Design (RWD) as “an approach to web design aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal ...

    Umbraco Gold Partner

Umbraco 8 was launched in February 2019, and was 5 years in the making! Eagerly anticipated by 3chillies and the wider Umbraco community, the codebase was given a thorough and necessary clean-up, in order to make working with Umbraco a lot simpler for developers as well as improve the performance and stability of the CMS, all of which will make it more straightforward for all users to work with Umbraco. Now that the dust has settled and Umbraco 8 has been in use for almost a year, we take a look at the different arguments to remain on 7 or ...

  • Code: Download a CSV from within Sitecore User Manager

    Friday, January 13, 2017
    Code 360 x 360

I had a requirement on a recent project to download a .CSV from within Sitecore User Manager. Basically, it was to download all users within a particular domain into a .csv file. The 'download' bit proved tricky, though. To add a new button to Sitecore's ribbons, you need to: Add entries in Core (in my case /sitecore/content/Applications/Security/User Manager/Ribbon/Home/ ) for the ribbon section and button. Note that you have to specify a command to be run.  Add a patch file that defines that command, using the class and assembly ...

    we have a winner

A few weeks ago we blogged about the 3chillies UEFA 2016 sweepstake. Despite England’s embarrassing early exit to Iceland, the Euros were a pleasure to watch and enjoyed by all …even the Welsh!Well, now the Euros are over and we have a winner!!!!!The nail-biting final took place between Alex Tozer (who had Portugal) and Liam Hicks (who got the pre-match favourites, France). The rivalry was heightened by the fact they both work in the support department. Needless to say, Alex is now a big fan of Portuguese football…and Liam isn’t. Here's a ...

  • 6 TIPS FOR CREATING A GREAT EMAIL SIGNATURE

    Email Signature

According to statistics from radicati, the average office worker sends 40 emails per day.  If that's true, our agency could be sending in excess of 1000 emails per day, - a figure that is hard for marketers to ignore! Knowing this, we took the opportunity to revisit the design of our email signatures and search for ways to better utilise all of that marketing potential.  Before the re-branding took place, this is what my email signature looked like…I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s a pretty uninspiring way to end an email. It’s certainly ...

    3CHILLIES 10 YEARS

On Friday we came together to celebrate the company’s 10th birthday! We started the day by ordering in 25 chocolate caterpillar cakes, which [rather unfortunately] weren’t for us…Each one was bundled up with a brand new 3chillies mug and sent out to some of our closest friends and partners (We can only hope the caterpillars survive the postal journey!).At 3pm it was time to grab a beer and some branded birthday cake in preparation for the bi-annual company meeting. During the meeting, we reviewed some of the awesome projects we’ve built ...
